by Ildar Usmanov

Dear UM Business School Alumni,

We are delighted to share the success of the UM Business School Alumni Association’s (UMBSAA) first industry talk, a groundbreaking event that marked the beginning of an exciting series. Hosted in collaboration with Siemens Energy, Malaysia and UM Faculty of Business and Economics, the event centered around the crucial theme of “Leadership in the Sustainable Industry,” and featured an engaging presentation by Mr. Azli Mohamed – Managing Director of Siemens Energy, Malaysia.

The event served as a nexus, bringing together UM GSB alumni and industry experts for an enriching discussion on the latest trends and best practices in sustainable leadership. Attendees had the opportunity to delve into pertinent topics, addressing questions ranging from leadership and innovation to the initiation of sustainable journeys within their respective companies.

One of the highlights of the session was the insightful exchange between UM GSB alumni and Siemens Energy representatives. Questions delved into Siemens Energy’s sustainability policies, particularly those related to supply chain and employees. The discussion also explored the development of alternative energy sources, with a special focus on the burgeoning field of Hydrogen. The interactive dialogue fostered an environment of shared learning and collaboration.

Furthermore, Siemens Energy’s recruiting team presented compelling employment opportunities, providing alumni with valuable insights into career paths within the organization.

Looking ahead, UMBSAA is committed to organizing regular industry talks and events, open to all UM GSB alumni. These occasions are designed not only to facilitate knowledge exchange but also to serve as a platform for networking and professional growth.
